Tuesday - Jerez & Cadiz

We are on a journey south down the coast of the Costa de la Luz towards the southernmost tip of Spain, so why dart inland to Jerez? No, not for sherry, but for gas. We won't bore you with the finer details but suffice to say Jerez was the nearest place to fill up. Having declined the kind offer of 2 entrepreneurs in yellow waistcoats to relieve us of 5 euros for parking in a free car park, we headed a further 20 miles southwest to Cadiz. We walked 7 miles around the historic centre, not that C&A is particularly historic, apart from in England, and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the place. The sight of palm & orange trees in a city centre still makes us smile inwardly and think that maybe we are somewhere more exotic than mainland Europe.

We are just about to close our ramblings for the evening when we detect the sound of a trumpet soloist outside, either he's just learning or, more likely, totally inebriated! There is something particularly funny about a drunk playing a trumpet, a bit like Les Dawson on the piano.

Oh no, he's been joined by his mate........now there's a trombone.......and a big drum...... Eventually there's about 30, who eventually stop after 2 hours! It's 11pm, night night.
