Saturday 21st

Tonight will be our second, and last night at this paid aire, just south of Sanlucar de Barrameda (on the coast near Jerez). It’s been good value for money with wifi, showers, toilets, all facilities for a campervanner, a very good hard standing pitch with grass and bordered by shrubs and most importantly a very friendly and helpful host. Having said that, this definitely is not Caravan Club, but then it cost the princely sum of 8 euros! Being Lidl shoppers, we know a bargain when we see one, and we think this is one.

Today we cycled more than we ever have. This morning was just a measly 7 miles, but this afternoon we tackled the Via Verde Entre Rios from Sanlucar south to Rota (and threw a bit extra in for good measure), that’ll be another 26 miles thank you very much. It’s a good job we could ‘motor’ back from Rota, returning just in time to have a beer in the sun.

Not a common sight in Cumbria, an egret on a horse (from today's epic bike ride).
