Sunday & Monday

We drove just 11 miles south down the coast to the outskirts of Rota (where we had cycled to the day before), & had a leisurely 2 days to recover from our exertions. There is a network of raised wooden walkways in the pine wood next to where we stayed, with several 'branches' leading to the extensive beech, I mean beach! We walked about 2 miles on these paths & on our way back Rachel kept pointing to a flock of brightly coloured birds flying above us. We got back to the van & they kept circling around so I took a few shot, with the camera of course. They were strange as they were all different colours, one wing might be red & the other yellow but no 2 were alike. A fellow camper said they were pigeons painted by their owners, mmm.... not too sure about that. However, we were wrong to doubt him. Before the sun set, we were besieged by a large group of noisy gadgies with, would you believe it, boxes for collecting their brightly coloured pigeons. Yes, they told me they painted them and photos will appear when we get WiFi. Meantime Google Spanish painted pigeons.
